A comparison of the syllabi of MPPSC Exams (both Premins and Mains) with that of UPSC CSE reveals that whereas the UPSC syllabus is more expansive, MPPSC syllabus is relatively concise. For example, the MPPSC syllabus for Geography clearly mentions the topics like soil, agriculture, irrigation and drainage system of India, so one has to cover only those selected topics mentioned by the Commission in their syllabus, while in UPSC, such limitations of topics have not been made making that syllabus much more vast. Similar is the case with other General Studies subjetcts of History, Polity, Economy, Science & Technology and Current affairs.
